Vocabulary

Anna can talk.  IF you have the right dictionary.  For any who may need to interpret, here's a list. (Partial list -- from the time I started writing this until now, her vocabulary has increased dramatically!  Mostly with understandable words, though :) )

gum -- all gone
dum -- gum OR down OR up
bum -- fell down
boom -- milk OR spoon
boo -- bib OR boot
bah -- ball OR block
no -- no OR more (imagine the frustration before I got this figured out!  "Do you want some more?"  "No!") OR snow
bigh -- bite
bah-ee -- potty
bodee -- book (it sounds awfully similar to the above!)
biddy -- blanket
daddy -- napkin (what were you thinking it would be?!), toilet paper and kleenex
dada -- daddy
danna -- up there (it sounds like 'down there') (as in 'biddy danna' on the top bunk)
manna -- amen OR banana
waduh -- water, any other beverage OR orange (since I started this post she's learned how to say "oonj")
mama -- mommy OR "can anybody please snuggle with me while I'm trying to sleep?"
wawa -- light
way --  put away OR ice
wun --  run OR I haven't been able to figure out yet ... If you have, please let me know!
ta -- trash
tchaw -- cloth (as in cleaning rag)
seejhee -- cereal
dadada --  yes, Daddy
mamama --  yes, Mommy
teetee -- stinky diaper
deedee -- thank you
buhdda --  peanut butter

Some of it is pretty straight forward:
Anna -- recently, instead of just hollering 'mine!!', she'll more nicely yell, 'Anna, Anna!!'
'appy
up -- this includes 'cut up food' as well
wet
cup
han'  -- hand
eye --  although she uses this for her ear as well

Knowing her vocabulary is very helpful ... but deciphering what she's saying is still  80% context.  For example, I was getting her dressed and she said "koh bodty."  In this case, she was saying "cold bellybutton."

What I've found interesting is that, whereas Kate's early vocabulary was full of M's and N's, Anna has a strong tendency to use B's and D's.

I haven't been able to pin down her word for Nathan or Kate, "day" is my closest guess at the moment.
